„Kettwiger Stausee“ is the boat landing stage of the White Fleet Baldeney, which is also called „pier Kettwig“is known. The ship"s pier is located not far from the Kettwig Lock. The banks of the Ruhr are lined at this point by the former production halls of the Scheidt textile factory, which have since been converted into residential space, or are partly preserved in fragments and date from 1837. For a long time, they formed the economic center of the present-day Essen district of Kettwig on the banks of the Ruhr.
