Recreation in the Krupp Forest

It lies idyllically in a clearing in the Krupp Forest: the Restaurant Zur Kluse. Nearly two years after a fire destroyed the listed 18th-century timber-framed gem, owner Matthias Knutzen celebrated the reopening in 2011. Since then, the in-house parking It's regularly packed. The beer garden at Restaurant Zur Kluse is a wonderful place to enjoy the day outdoors. The owner, a true garden enthusiast, has poured his heart and soul into the outdoor space. Nestled beneath large, old chestnut trees, the beer garden provides welcome shade in the summer. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, perfect for gatherings with friends or family. In addition to refreshing drinks, the beer garden also serves hearty snacks and traditional beer garden fare. A changing seasonal menu completes the offerings.

Peace and quiet in nature

On sunny days, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature here, just a few minutes' walk from the Baldeneysee, and let your gaze wander over the greenery. The beer garden is open in good weather and offers plenty of space for guests. A relaxing place to unwind after a walk at the Baldeneysee, the Villa Hügel or to take a break in the city forest and enjoy the fresh air. Cyclists and horseback riders have also been considered. Next to the beer garden, there is a large bicycle parking area and a tethering post for horses.

With chilled drinks and freshly prepared dishes of refined German cuisine, you'll quickly regain your energy. Everyday life fades away amidst nature between the city forest and... Special charm

Where dark wood once dominated the Kluse's dining room, extensive renovations have now resulted in wood – a few shades lighter. This, along with new lighting and the placement of some high tables opposite the bar, has given the ambiance a young and modern feel. Rotating artists provide variety in the wall art. The restaurant, Zur Kluse, is located near... Baldeneysee retain its historical and special charm.
