South Tyrolean parlors on Baldeneysee

Brotzeitbrettl, Leberknödelsuppe, Weißwürstl - no, we're not in Bavaria, but at the Baldeneysee. As the name suggests, the Südtiroler Stuben is dedicated to Alpine cuisine and there is a reason for this. The Pichler family, owners of the restaurant, originally come from South Tyrol. Catrin and Roman are the second generation to take over the role of hosts from their parents. The dining room and the large terrace have recently been extensively renovated and are becoming increasingly popular.

Two counters, two huge fully automatic coffee machines, a cocoa machine and a large cake counter give an idea of the enormous amount of food and drink on a beautiful summer's day. More and more younger people and families are joining the 60-plus regulars. Some drink a freshly tapped Pilsner, others order a snack such as veal sausages with pretzels or a South Tyrolean meat platter (for two or more people) to satisfy their hunger.

A great idea for trying the five different dumplings: the South Tyrolean dumpling platter for two. If you have already found your favorite dumpling, you can also order spinach, cheese, tomato, beet and wild mushroom dumplings as individual dishes. Apart from that, the menu reads rather classically and as if you can't go far wrong when ordering. Three fresh dishes round off the repertoire. Not forgetting the Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote, which is always freshly prepared and should be ordered early because it takes around half an hour to prepare.

A direct lakeside location, an extensive range of food and drinks with a good price-performance ratio are the hallmarks of Südtiroler Stuben . Just like the friendly toilet attendant and well-kept toilets, the secret "calling card" of a hotel.
