Scooter live at Seaside Beach on Baldeneysee
September 6, 2025, was one of those rare late summer days that felt like a gift. Temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius, a cloudless sky, and a gentle breeze from the Baldeneysee wind turbine – ideal conditions for an open-air concert at the Beach Club. Even upon arrival at the Baldeneysee, everything felt perfect. The first visitors started arriving around midday, many of them by bicycle – heeding the call from platforms like Baldeneysee.Ruhr to travel carbon-neutrally. The bicycles were parked right at the main entrance, where security personnel kept a watchful eye on them. A detail that underscored the sustainable nature of the event – even if it wasn't immediately obvious.
Not everyone's music – but everyone's party.
„"I usually listen to indie, but this is just insane!" exclaimed one visitor as HP Baxxter bellowed "Hyper Hyper!" into the microphone for the third time. Scooter isn't known for subtlety – and that was a good thing. The techno pros delivered a show that even swept away the skeptics. With pyrotechnics, thunderous beats, and a light show that transformed the lake into a pulsating sea of color, the evening became pure ecstasy. And nobody in the lakeside restaurants and bars could escape the Baxxter beats that night.
Between sand and sound – voices from the crowd
Between palm trees, sand, and the B-See lake, some people danced barefoot, lay on picnic blankets, or jumped to the beat of the music. CRO spoke directly to the audience: "You guys are amazing, Essen!" – and the crowd responded with a collective scream. The atmosphere was incredibly electric! Lisa (24) from Bielefeld summed up what the fans were feeling: "I've seen CRO three times before, but here at Baldeneysee – it's magical. The location makes everything more intense." Next to her stood Tom (31) from Dortmund, who was there for the first time: "I'm not really a fan, a friend dragged me along. And now? I'm completely hooked." The catchment area for the concert was large – Essen was the only venue in North Rhine-Westphalia. Even concertgoers from the Netherlands traveled to see Cro at the Baldeneysee.
HP Baxxter, the charismatic frontman, simply knew how to command the crowd. "Now it's your turn!" he shouted – and 15,000 voices sang an entire verse on their own. If the singing was too quiet for the frontman, the crowd had to step up again, adding several decibels and giving it their all. Pure goosebumps. "I've never heard so many people sing at once," said a fan from Dortmund. "It was absolutely magical."„
Boats, beats and a lake full of light
A highlight that surprised even seasoned concert and festival-goers from out of town: the illuminated boats that gathered on the water in front of the Seaside Beach stage. Decorated with strings of lights, they rocked gently to the beat of the music, and occasionally a horn could even be heard. An audio and visual spectacle that is certainly unparalleled in Germany. The reflections on the water, combined with the stage lighting, created an atmosphere somewhere between Ibiza and a dream world. "I was on my uncle's boat – we didn't have the best view because the shipping lane had to be kept clear, but we had the best atmosphere," said one visitor who watched the concert from the water. "That's unique to Baldeneysee. You don't even experience something like that at big festivals."„

Shuttle service and bicycle-friendliness – logistics at the highest level.
Those who didn't arrive by bike – or couldn't due to the distance – used the shuttle bus service, which has been perfected in recent years. The buses ran every minute, were air-conditioned, and transported visitors safely and stress-free to the venue and back again later. No long waits, no overcrowded bus stops – a prime example of well-planned event logistics. "I was skeptical whether it would work with so many people," said a visitor from Cologne, who was directed in the right direction by the stewards before wandering around in the dark for a long time. "But it was incredibly well organized. I got to the beach faster than I expected." Additional lanterns illuminated the paths around the venue at Baldeneysee, ensuring safety and better orientation.
Conclusion: Summer, sun, seaside
The Scooter concert at Baldeneysee was more than just party music – it was a complete experience. From the weather and the sustainable travel arrangements to the unique atmosphere with boats and bass: this evening will surely remain in many people's memories for a long time. Even if Scooter isn't on everyone's playlist, HP Baxxter and his crew impressively demonstrated how to electrify a crowd and send them into a frenzy. "I'll be back next year – no matter who plays," one concertgoer said to her companion as they were leaving the venue. And that's precisely the greatest compliment for an event: when the music elevates the experience itself.
