Plenty of sun
First things first: it will be hot! Think about sunscreen with a high SPF and it's best to arrive already completely sun screened. Appropriate headwear (ideally in light colors) protects against sunburn and sunstroke. Due to the high temperatures, you are allowed to bring a 0.33 ml or 0.5 ml disposable water bottle – no hard plastic! There will be a drinking water fountain where you can refill your water for free. Even if it may be tempting: swimming in the Ruhr is forbidden. It's quite possible that the Ordnungsamt will check this. The festival grounds are characterized by large, shade-providing trees. Take care of yourself and others!
Supply, Access, and Infrastructure
This year, the [Festival Name] remains true to its open character: Admission is free, and the atmosphere is familial. There is a playground in the middle of the festival grounds. Food stalls will cater to your culinary needs. You can also stock up on merchandise on-site. Awareness, mutual consideration, and respect are particularly important to the organizer. They call for looking out for each other and respecting each other's boundaries. There will be an awareness point on-site where those seeking help can turn. Getting there is best done by public transport. There is a special train that stops directly at the festival grounds from Essen Central Station (HBF). The departure and arrival stop is S-Bahn station [Station Name]. The timetable will be provided by [Website]. From there, it is only a few hundred meters to the festival grounds. The main entrance is located at the end of the sports facility in [Street Name], specifically between the sports field and the Knaus tent.

Local Stage: Music from the Region
The Local Stage showcases the diversity of the music scene in the Ruhr region. The Ruhr area, once the heartland of coal mining and a melting pot of many cultures, boasts one of Europe's most exciting subcultures. Here, on the Local Stage, artists from Essen and its immediate surroundings take center stage. MARNELE closes the evening's program, while acts like Luis Domingo, Bluejeans, and KAT KIT provide varied sounds beforehand. Emerging talent and local insider tips like Favourite Sidewalk Couch and LIA are also given a platform here – a true happening for regional creativity.

Structured Schedule
So that no one misses their favorite set, the performances on the three stages are coordinated in time. The program starts at 1:00 PM and runs until 10:00 PM. Visitors can flexibly switch between stages and create their personal festival mix. The complete timetables are available on Baldeneysee.ruhr. You will find them under the respective stages. This will make planning easier for you. Last year it rained heavily, which attracted fewer visitors. This year, it could look very different. Plenty of sun is forecast. The maximum capacity of the venue is 14,000 people. Once this capacity is reached, no one else will be admitted. Please take this into account.
Aftermovie and partners
An aftermovie from 2025 of the past year shows how vibrant and diverse the festival is. Although it really rained cats and dogs, the mood was anything but rainy. The organizers publicly thank partners, sponsors, and supporters who make the free event possible. Interested parties can find further information on the festival's info pages.
