Restaurant, Hotel & Event Venue

„"Dining in style with a view of the Baldeneysee“That’s what the Parkhaus Hügel advertises, a restaurant with rooms for celebrations and events as well as a hotel directly below the Villa Hügel. Since 1955, the Imhoff family has been hosting guests in this historic 19th-century building and since 2004 has been not only the tenant but also the owner of Parkhaus Hügel.

Historic building – innovative hospitality

Built by Alfred Krupp in 1870 as a casino, the building is located just steps away from Villa Hügel, the opulent residence of the Krupp family and, as a friend and architect once called the "villa," "the most beautiful single-family home in Essen." In what is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in the Ruhr region, the operators of Parkhaus Hügel aim to combine the extraordinary charm of this historic building with innovative hospitality.

View of the Baldeneysee

The view while dining is certainly beautiful, as the Baldeneysee can be seen from the restaurant, the adjoining banquet hall, and the large summer terrace. The mature trees provide pleasant shade on summer days, and the adjacent private parking area ensures barrier-free access to the dining rooms.

Hospitality in its third generation

The Imhoff family, who have run the former casino for three generations, aim to pamper their guests with creative, regionally sourced, and fresh cuisine. The changing menu reflects the current season. Seasons and uses both regional and international ingredients. The operators have already catered state receptions and possess extensive banquet experience, which can be utilized for events at Parkhaus Hügel or off-site.

Convenient location

The Parkhaus Hügel parking garage is easily accessible not only by car. The "Hügel" S-Bahn station is just a short walk away, and there's a bus stop directly below the garage, where the Essen city tour bus also stops. Not to be forgotten is the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path, which runs past the Hügel parking garage and is suitable for both regular and e-bikes.
