"Stylish dining with a view of the Baldeneysee" is how the Parkhaus Hügel, a restaurant with rooms for celebrations and events as well as a hotel directly below the Villa Hügel. The Imhoff family has been entertaining guests in this historic 19th century building since 1955 and has not only been the tenant but also the owner of Parkhaus Hügel since 2004.
Historic building - innovative hospitality
Built by Alfred Krupp in 1870 as a casino, the house is located just a few steps away from the Villa Hügel the magnificent residence of the Krupp family and the "most beautiful detached house in Essen", as an architect friend once called the "Villa". In what is probably one of the most beautiful places in the Ruhr region, the operators at Parkhaus Hügel want to combine the extraordinary charm of this historic building with innovative hospitality.
View of the Baldeneysee
The view while you dine is certainly beautiful, as both the restaurant, the adjoining ballroom and the large summer terrace look out over the Baldeneysee. The old trees provide pleasant shade on summer days and the adjacent private parking lot guarantees barrier-free access to the restaurant rooms.
Hospitality in the third generation
The Imhoff family, who are the third generation to run the former casino, aim to spoil their guests with creative and regional fresh cuisine. The changing menu follows the seasons and uses regional and international ingredients. The operators have already catered for state receptions and have extensive banqueting experience, which can be utilized for events at Parkhaus Hügel or outside the restaurant.
Convenient location
The Parkhaus Hügel is not only easy to reach by car. The "Hügel" S-Bahn stop is just a few steps away and there is a bus stop directly below the parking garage, where the Essen city tour also stops. Not forgetting the Ruhr Valley cycle path, which runs past the Parkaus Hügel and is accessible both with and without an e-bike.
