Beach vibes at 35 degrees Celsius, female DJs on two stages on the grounds of the Seaside Beach Baldeney against the unique backdrop of the Baldeneysee – the lake burned on the 16th. SMAG Sundance On July 8, 2023, cool beats with powerful bass, fire fountains, and more than 10,000 festival-goers celebrated a top-class electronic music party. – The 16th SMAG Sundance on Saturday was a festival of superlatives.
All colors and a vibrant festival community
Electronic beats and a relaxed atmosphere – a vibrant festival crowd danced and sang along to the set of Alle Farben, winners of the 1Live Krone and Echo awards and headliners of SMAG Sundance 2023, amidst a shower of red and white confetti. The sold-out event featured not only well-known musical acts, but also DJ and producer Toby Romeo, a relative newcomer to the scene, who got the partygoers fired up on the main stage in the afternoon. Even the security guards patrolling the festival grounds seemed to be enjoying their duties. "Despite the almost tropical heat, everyone remained calm and everything went peacefully," summarized the organizer, Lugana Entertainment.
Artists and Community
On the second, more techno-oriented stage, five female DJs showcased their skills on the turntables, whipping the crowd into a frenzy. The close proximity between the artists and the audience created an instant connection. This, along with the unique setting, is certainly one of the highlights of SMAG Sundance, which has become one of the biggest events of the summer, attracting audiences from far beyond the Ruhr region. "The organizers' expectations were absolutely exceeded," said Annette Heinrich, Managing Director of Lugana Entertainment. Satisfied guests, satisfied hosts.
