View of the Baldeneysee
Behind or in front of the well-tended clay courts with a view of the center court and nestled in the lush greenery of Baldeneysee , a small culinary oasis unfolds in the tennis house of the ETUF tennis team: Noah's. It is different from a typical restaurant - a clubhouse, a bistro, a place to meet, linger and enjoy nature. Here, in an ambience steeped in history, the spirit of sport and conviviality merge.
Lunch and dinner
At Noah's, sunbeams dance on the glasses that border the summer terrace, while inside the aroma of freshly toasted bread mingles with Mediterranean herbs. The cuisine? A charming liaison of regional ingredients, seasonal creativity and Mediterranean flair. Whether it's lunch after a match or a relaxed dinner at sunset - the menu offers hot and cold starters, salads, pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes.
Tennis at Baldeneysee
The history of the ETUF Tennishaus is closely linked to the development of tennis in Essen - and it begins back in the 19th century. At that time - it is said to have been 1893 - Alfred Krupp discovered lawn tennis in England and built the first tennis court behind the Hotel Essen Hof. The ETUF tennis team was founded in 1900 and after several temporary arrangements, a barrack with showers was built and finally the ETUF tennis house in 1935. It towers over the grounds and adjoins the shore of Lake Baldeney. From here you have an excellent view of the tennis facility with 17 outdoor courts, a 3-court hall and a 2-court air dome. The center court - like the tennis house - was modernized in 2025, as the FISU World University Games 2025 will be held here in July. The facility is complemented by the latest addition: a padel tennis court.
Team from the boathouse
Noah's in the ETUF tennis house has been run since May 2025 by the team around Senger Sahdalla, who are already known for the boathouse next door. The Mediterranean atmosphere and location with a view of the Baldeneysee are certainly worth mentioning - a real "dream view" of the water and sailing boats.

Tennis outfit and evening wear
The atmosphere at Noah's is stylish and relaxed at the same time: wood, glass, clear lines, warm tones - a design that radiates naturalness. In addition to the location, guests appreciate the cordiality of the team, who serve between tennis outfits and evening wear without anyone feeling out of place. Noah's is a meeting place, a haven of peace in the sporty ambience of the ETUF complex.
Our conclusion
Those who stop here will find much more than a meal - they will discover a place where time seems to slow down. And while the balls fly over the net on the clay courts next to the recently renovated center court, cool refreshments and tasty snacks are served at Noah's.
