The German Small Boat Championships 2026 are just around the corner – and on Baldeneysee.Ruhr you can experience every stroke live from April 17th to 19th. For three days, the Olympic rowing course in Munich will be the center of German elite and junior rowing. In addition to the national small boat championships, the important small boat selection regatta for the U19 women and men (17 and 18 years old) will take place at the same time, where talents will want to recommend themselves for upcoming national and international competitions.

A total of 215 boats from 120 clubs have registered – an impressive field competing for times, rankings, and prestige in 15 boat classes plus para-rowing. The small boat championships are traditionally considered one of the toughest benchmarks in German rowing: those who impress here lay the foundation for the season in the large boats and for potential international assignments.

Strong teams are also traveling from the West. Athletes from Essen – from Baldeneysee and the Ruhr – are competing in the top-class field and want to show that they are among the best nationally. For them, Munich is not just a competition, but a statement: those who succeed here belong to the national elite.
