Cafe Extrablatt, the café, bistro and bar on the northern shore of Lake Baldeney in Essen, is located in the Heisingen district and combines the charm of a modern restaurant with a wide-ranging and trend-oriented gastronomic offering. Situated in an exposed location in the first row of the lake, the dining room and terrace offer a direct view of the lake. Baldeneysee. The main menu is divided into different categories and appeals to everyone. There is finger food, salads, pizza, pasta and wraps. Changing extra menus offer a range of changing specials and themes such as the burger menu, cocktail menu, ice cream menu, children's menu and veggie menu.
No rest day
After what felt like an eternity of renovation work, Cafe Extrablatt opened its doors in June 2019 in the completely renovated rooms of the "Fährmann am See". The curiosity of the guests, the good weather - many things came together in the opening weeks and triggered a huge rush for the seats. The audience is a colorful mix and ranges from students and senior citizens to small and large families. The opening hours are also wide-ranging and extend from early morning to late evening - seven days a week.
Festivals and celebrations
Two function rooms on the second floor are equipped with modern technology and can be hired for events and celebrations. It should also be mentioned that Café Extrablatt can be reached not only on foot, by bike, car or bus, but also by water.
