Kika's ice cream parlor
When the sun shines, the desire for a delicious ice cream rises with the thermometer. Apparently very tasty ice cream in the Werden district of Essen near the Baldeneysee can be found at Kika's ice cream parlor. When the weather is good at the weekend, ice cream fans sometimes snake their way to the Ludgerusbrunnen. They are happy to accept a little waiting time and join the queue.
In addition to classics such as spaghetti ice cream, ice cream fans who like to experiment will enjoy creations flavored with cinnamon and liquorice. The buttermilk with forest fruit variety takes less getting used to and is an absolute favorite. There are around 24 ice cream flavors to choose from. Served in an edible cup and with a good ladle of chocolate sauce on top, which sets, summer should never end.
The ambience at Kika's is candy pink and pastel mint and exudes a trendy, cozy 50s ice cream parlor charm. The shop window facing Brückstraße is decorated to reflect the changing seasons and looks very inviting. In addition to the indoor seating, there is now also outdoor seating. When the sun is shining, most people choose an ice cream 'to go' and take a seat on the seating around the Ludgerusbrunnen fountain or stroll through the picturesque alleyways of Werden.
