Jagdhaus Schellenberg

The Jagdhaus Schellenberg with its large beer garden and view of Baldeneysee offers the best conditions for outdoor fans. Located above Lake Baldeney, in the woods on the way from Stadtwald to Heisingen, you can leave the stress behind and recharge your batteries in the middle of the green lungs of Essen's south. Parking is available directly at Jagdhaus Schellenberg. While winter is best spent indoors - in the cozy half-timbered area or in the bright conservatory - guests love the restaurant terrace and beer garden in summer. A treat for special occasions: the lakeside terrace. The separate outdoor area can be seated for up to 25 people or offers the perfect place for aperitifs at larger celebrations.

The unique backdrop at Baldeneysee with a romantic herb garden adjacent to the Jagdhaus Schellenberg , is a popular photo backdrop for weddings and anniversaries. And the staircase at the half-timbered house is ideal for group photos.

Jagdhaus Schellenberg is divided into two areas: the restaurant and the beer garden. In the beer garden, the only self-service area, guests are given a pager when they order, which vibrates when their dish is ready to be picked up. There are around 350 seats on rustic beer tables and benches. The menu includes dishes such as cake with cream, bratwurst with rolls or potato and cucumber salad.

While the grown-ups enjoyed themselves, the little ones could let off steam in the fenced-in playground next door. However, due to high demand and the popularity of the beer garden, the playground had to be dismantled to make room for an extension to the beer garden. This new addition now allows even more guests to enjoy the outdoors at the same time, while retaining the family atmosphere of the Jagdhaus.

The former excursion restaurant "Schöne Aussicht" became the "Jagdhaus Schellenberg" in 2001. Since then, the ambience and offerings have been geared towards higher standards. The beautiful view from the past has remained. The beer garden is more casual.
