A final chapter in German hip-hop history on Baldeneysee
Die Fantastischen Vier – Smudo, Thomas D, Michi Beck, and And.Ypsilon (producer) – have been shaping German music history for over 36 years. With their final tour, "Der letzte Bus" (The Last Bus), the pioneers of German-language rap are bidding farewell to the big stage – a gig is also planned at Baldeneysee. Between 2026 and 2028, the tour bus will roll through Germany one last time, passing sold-out arenas, legendary open-air festivals, and venues that have long since become part of the band's DNA.
36 years of hip-hop – Die Fantastischen Vier embark on their final journey
The advance ticket sales have already demonstrated the immense desire to experience the birthplace of German rap live one last time. Over 100,000 tickets sold out in just 30 minutes. Due to the overwhelming demand, additional shows have been announced in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, and Essen. This makes the tour not only a musical event but also a logistical masterpiece – gigs across Germany, all-night drives on the autobahn, and a mammoth logistical undertaking spanning at least 18 months.
Seaside Beach Baldeney – a place with band history
The prospect of performing on [date] is particularly electrifying. Seaside Beach Baldeney in Essen. Die Fantastischen Vier have played here three times before – and each time the Baldeneysee became the backdrop for unforgettable moments. The unique setting: the water, the sand between your toes, the setting sun, and sailboats illuminated with colorful lights, anchored next to the stage, their crews listening to the beats – an open-air venue perfectly suited for powerful emotions.
Music that connects generations
Fans can look forward to a brand-new show that combines classics like "Die da!?!?", "MFG", "Tag am Meer", and "Zusammen" with fresh staging. The Baldeneysee will become a symbol of what defines Die Fantastischen Vier: community, authenticity, and the power of music that connects generations. This venue is more than just a stage; it's a piece of the band's history, a place where past and future intersect. The upcoming performance promises not just a concert, but a farewell ritual – a special moment that Fanta4 will share with their fans.
The last bus – both departure and farewell
The metaphor of the "last bus" is more than just a tour title. It represents the final great journey of a band that has been making German music history since 1991. With their debut album "Jetzt geht's ab" (Now it's getting started) and the hit "Die da!?!?" (That one!?!?), they brought German rap to the German charts and radio. With songs like "Sie ist weg" (She's gone), "Troy," and "Zusammen" (Together), they created anthems that have accompanied people for decades.
The tour will bring all of that together:
– A look back at over three decades full of hits, humor and passion.
– A legacy that shows how authentic and creative German-language rap can be.
– A departure that revisits all the places that have shaped the band – from small clubs to large stadiums and, of course, the beach club at Baldeneysee.
An event that casts a long shadow.
The stages aren't set up yet, the spotlights are still off – but the anticipation is immense. For everyone who says, "I've never seen Fanta4 live," it's high time they did. Because this moment won't come again. Die Fantastischen Vier invite you on a journey that will not only be a farewell, but above all a celebration of memories and an unforgettable event.
