Tulip Sunday parade in Essen- Kupferdreh 2026 on Baldeneysee

The carnival parade in Essen Kupferdreh (Baldeneysee) will take place for the first time on Tulip Sunday, February 15, 2026. It starts at 1:11 p.m. Due to a new security concept and experience gained from the previous year, the traditional Rose Monday parade was moved to an earlier date to better consolidate logistical resources.

The parade starts at the corner of Kupferdreher Straße and Deilbachbrücke and then proceeds through the town center towards the post office. Participation and spectating are free of charge – except for any grandstands that may be in use.

Information about the carnival parade in Essen-Kupferdreh

A large-scale road closure will be in effect on the day of the event: The town center will be closed to motorized traffic from approximately 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Ruhrbahn GmbH also advises of detours for bus lines 141, 153, 177, and 180.
