The hill is Family – Family Day in the Villa Hügel at the Baldeneysee

On Saturday, August 31, 2025, class Villa Hügel invites everyone to the first Hügel Family Day at Baldeneysee in Essen. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the former residence of the Krupp family business and the "little house" will open their doors for a diverse family program right next to Baldeneysee. Visitors can expect a colorful mix of music, creative activities, movement, and history: The concert "Early Start with Mozart" with the witch Kleinlaut will provide musical entertainment, while craft activities with natural materials, juggling, movement games, and a nature exploration station invite participation and discovery.

Short guided tours through the Villa Hügel offer exciting insights into otherwise closed rooms and tell the story of the house and its inhabitants.

Tickets for the Hill Family Day with two time slots (10am–2pm or 1pm–5pm) are available below.
Entry costs 5 euros. Children and teenagers up to 16 years of age have free entry, but still require a ticket. According to the organizers, participation is not possible without a ticket.
