Essener Rad Genuss RTF starts at Baldeneysee

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, it's time to get on your bike again in Essen. The popular Essener Rad Genuss cycling tour (RTF), organized by the Essen Cycling Club 1900 e.V., offers participants three varied routes of 45 km, 75 km and 116 km.

In addition, two gravel bike routes will be signposted: a 54 km gravel route with approximately 530 meters of elevation gain and an 88 km gravel route with approximately 690 meters of elevation gain. A guided women's recreational cycling tour and a guided gravel tour are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM. Registration with the organizer is required for the guided tours.

The start and finish point is Regattahaus at Freiherr-vom-Stein-Str. 206 in 45133 Essen Bredeney. Start times are flexible, with start times available between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. The 45 km route remains open until 11:00 AM.

Besides the sporting fun, refreshment stations and drinks will keep spirits high along the route. The event is supported by sponsors Stauder, Lidl, and Allbau – and Mayor Thomas Kufen has also confirmed his attendance. Those who would like to connect beforehand can join the 138 other interested participants on the cycling club's Facebook event page.

A day full of exercise, enjoyment and community awaits cycling enthusiasts at the Baldeneyseee.
