Event Details

Rides on a historic diesel locomotive* from Hespertalbahn on the Baldeneysee in the south of Essen are a very special, nostalgic experience. The diesel locomotives V1 (built in 1961) and V9 (built in 1957), which have been lovingly restored by the Hespertalbahn association, are used on certain dates.

The tour starts at the platform between the locomotive shed of Hespertalbahn and the old Prussian station at Kupferdreh (Alter Bahnhof Kupferdreh), which today houses Lukas and is used as a culinary station. Parking is available in the parking lot Hespertalbahn.

Railroad enthusiasts can experience pure nostalgia on a ride with the diesel locomotive of Hespertalbahn, because not only the train locomotives are historic, the passenger carriages also bring the nostalgia of past decades to life on these special trips on the Baldeneysee experience.
