Appeals fair 2026 in Essen-Werden
The Appeltatenkirmes in Essen-Werden – also known as the Ludgerus Kirmes – is Essen's oldest fair and one of the most traditional annual fairs in North Rhine-Westphalia. It takes place from September 4th to 7th, 2026, at the Werdender Feintuchwerke square and attracts visitors to the edge of the picturesque old town in Werdener.
The namesake "Appeltaten," an autumnal apple pie creation, are of course a must at this fair in the Ruhr Valley, as are rides for young children, teenagers, and adults. This appeal to all ages makes the autumn fair in 45239 Essen-Werden particularly popular with families.
The event originates from the Ludgerus Festival, which dates back to a historical vow and remains connected to the fair to this day. Anyone wanting to experience the blend of tradition, entertainment, and culinary delights shouldn't miss this traditional festival held every September.
