On November 8th and 9th, 2025, the Baldeneysee in Essen will once again be the scene of some sporty cold sailing: The Essen Sailing Club Ruhrau eV invites you to the 54th Ice Cup for the O-Jolle RR class. Despite the late autumn temperatures, this traditional regatta is a highlight of the O-Jolle sailors' annual calendar. The Ice Cup is not only a sporting competition, but also a testament to true sailing passion – because only the hardiest dare to venture out onto the water in near-freezing temperatures. The regatta is considered a memorable end to the season and offers an ideal opportunity for fellowship and camaraderie among sailing enthusiasts.
