Plückthun ice cream parlor
Milk ice cream fans will get their money's worth at the Plückthun ice cream parlor in the Kupferdreh district of Essen, not far from Lake Baldeney. The extremely creamy ice cream has fans far beyond the city limits. Allergy sufferers are also catered for with lactose-free, gluten-free and sugar-free ice cream varieties. When the weather is nice, the rush is so great that guests not only take a seat inside, but also populate the benches in the adjacent garage courtyard. The family business can look back on a 40-year history. After Friedhelm Plückthun learned his trade at Bertram in Kray, he set up his own business in Kupferdreh. Every day, a selection of around 30 types of ice cream from a total of 115 creations is available to choose from in the glazed freezer counter to the left of the entrance.
