Cafe Extrablatt, the café, bistro, and bar on the north shore of Essen's Baldeneysee lake, is located in the Heisingen district and combines the charm of a modern lakeside restaurant with a diverse and trend-oriented culinary offering. Situated in a prime location on the lakefront, the dining room and terrace offer a direct view of the Baldeneysee. Internationally inspired, trendy cuisine is served alongside freshly tapped pilsner and a variety of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Breakfast – À la carte or buffet

After what felt like an eternity of renovations, Cafe Extrablatt finally opened its doors in June 2019 in the completely refurbished premises of the "Fährmann am See" (Ferryman by the Lake). The curiosity of the guests, the good weather – many factors combined during the opening weeks to trigger a huge rush for seats. The clientele is a diverse mix, ranging from students and senior citizens to families of all sizes. The opening hours are also extensive, extending from early morning until late evening – seven days a week.
